Let me tell you two different tales that have nothing to do with one another.
As a child, my friend and I would go out in the spring and summer time and find honeysuckles. They would grow along bushes and trees next to our playground. It was so much fun to pick each one individually and see how much honey you could get from each one; as kids, it was very exciting to find a huge blob of honey from time to time. Ever since then I have loved honeysuckles and they are a reminiscent part of my childhood.
Fast forward to my current life; several months ago my mom bought a plant. It was like a mini-tree; it had a huge sturdy stem, large leaves, and not much else. But for a week or so, I’ve been noticing an odd odor through my house; particularly the middle floor. Then one day as I opened the door when my dad came home, it hit me; the plant was flowering! I sniffed and sure enough, that’s where the smell was from! But it wasn’t until just now that I took a closer look at the flowers, which looked vaguely familiar. I looked even closer and got suspicious as an idea began to form in my mind…
Forget eloquence. HOLY AFGJSAHGDH THERE ARE HONEYSUCKLES GROWING ON MY HOUSEPLANT!! You guys have no idea how cool this is; however even I don’t know why I’m getting so excited over it. But you have to realize that every year during the spring, I never stopped being on the look-out for honeysuckles. Whenever I got a whiff of honey, I would literally stop walking home and look near the bushes. One time I tried eating one but the honey blob fell before I could get it 😦
This is like a piece of my childhood coming back. No more looking for honeysuckles, the brief and glorious revisits to those childhood days! I literally have an unlimited supply to them inside my own house! Even as I type this, I realize it’s not that big of a deal…but I got excited so before I could stop myself, this post was born 🙂
Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed a brief glance into my brain filled with insanity. Please don’t call a therapist.
